A recent email falsely claiming to be from the Office of the Registrar asking students to join a time-sensitive Zoom meeting was part of a growing trend of phishing scams.

The Office of the Registrar received multiple reports this week from students who received the scam messages, which told the recipients to join a Zoom meeting immediately to correct an issue with their transcripts.

Our office will not send you a Zoom invitation without first working with you to set up a meeting time. If you receive a phishing email with an unsolicited virtual meeting invitation, you should report it as suspicious.

If you are unsure about whether a message you received claiming to be from the Office of the Registrar is legitimate, you can contact our office by email at registrar@em.wisc.edu or by phone at 608-262-3811.
