Grading Dates
Final Grading
Instructors must use MyUW Faculty Center to submit final grades and grade changes. Until grades are completed by instructors and marked as “Submit to Registrar”, they will not be posted to student records and will not be considered official by the Office of the Registrar. Posting is required before grade reports are made available to students using their Student Center in MyUW. Grade access will be removed from instructors three days (72 hours) from the last final exam day in a given term. Summer terms do not have final exam periods so the 72-hour grading deadline will be applied using the last day of the session. Under the policy, the grade deadlines for upcoming terms are as follows:

Midterm Grading
Midterm grades are only for true first-year students — those who are in their first or second semester/term at any college or university. Transfer students are not considered to be first-year students. Grade rosters are prepared around the fifth week of classes, and instructors with first-year students must submit midterm grades in MyUW Faculty Center. Once midterm grading closes, an email is sent out to all students with midterm grades informing them of the grades’ temporary availability in the Student Center.

Key Dates for Spring Term 2026
- Friday, February 20, 2026: Midterm rosters generated
- Monday, March 9, 2026: Midterm grades due
- Tuesday, March 10, 2026, through Friday, March 20, 2026: Midterm grades available to students

Summer Grading Deadlines
Summer terms do not have final exam periods, so the 72-hour grading deadline will be applied using the end of the session.
The deadline for the main 8-week DHH summer session and any other sessions with the same end date are posted on this page. For all other sessions, grades should be posted three days (72 hours) after the end of that session.
FAQs
A process is run the Thursday prior to the last class day that will populate the grade roster. You can check with the person who enters courses in for your department or contact our office if you have questions about when a grade roster for a particular course will be ready for grading. After the rosters have been generated, the appropriate grading icons will appear on each gradable class in the Faculty Center and final grading can begin.
