Review Courses with Variable Credit Ahead of Student Enrollment

Be sure to review courses with variable credit prior to student enrollment. Any courses that are approved for variable credit at the catalog will need to be scheduled accordingly and edited within Adjust Class Associations. Example: If a course is approved to be offered for 3-4 credits, but for the upcoming term it will only be offered for 3 credits, this needs to be set on the Adjust Class Associations page and change the maximum units to 3 (instead of 4). There are some instances where it’s appropriate to keep the credit range, such as IND sections, but this should be set before students enroll for their courses. It is much more difficult to adjust after students enroll. For more details, please see: SIS/Building Your Schedule of Classes: Editing Variable Credit and/or Enrolling/Editing Variable Credit in CS&E
