Office of the Registrar’s refreshed website homepage focuses on easier access to information

A refresh of the Office of the Registrar’s (RO) website homepage aims to make it easier for University of Wisconsin–Madison students, faculty, and staff to find the information they need more quickly.

The updated webpage, which launched May 21, increases the visibility of key dates and deadlines, frequently used step-by-step guides, and related campus resources. At the top of the page, a content carousel prominently features different information throughout the year, coinciding with what’s happening in the academic cycle.

“We know that the topics of most use to the campus community in May — things like grading and graduation — differ from what is front-of-mind in September or March,” Interim University Registrar Beth Warner says. “Our refreshed homepage takes a data-informed approach toward regular content updates, saving our students and advisors the time and hassle of searching for the information they need most at any given point in time.”

The improvements build on a larger website rebuild that went live in early 2022. More recently, the website added a news section to share the RO’s story with a wider audience and a staff directory search functionality to make it easier to contact individual team members.

To ensure the refresh meets the campus community’s needs, the RO has created a survey to gather feedback on the changes. You can find it here.
