The 2025-2026 edition of the Guide – the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s comprehensive course catalog – has been published and is now available!
Every year, Guide coordinators from each school and college; Lumenaries; and team members from the Office of the Registrar and Data, Academic Planning & Institutional Research (DAPIR) go through the Guide with a fine-toothed comb to make sure the content is updated, consistently formatted, and easy for all users to maneuver. With roughly 9,000 courses included, keeping the university’s one-stop shop for program information up to date is no small task!
What’s New
Among the changes you’ll find in the 2025-2026 Guide are:
- The elimination of the “People” tab;
- Lists of departmental faculty/staff moved to the “Contact Information” sidebar and given a consistent formatting;
- The continued rollout of the “How to Get in” tabs explaining in detail how students enter a program; and
- Updates for improved accessibility, including making an alphabetical list of programs visible by default instead of a grid view.
By the Numbers
In total, this year’s Guide editors:
- Reviewed 1,841 unique pages;
- Processed 826 program proposals; and
- Processed 1,120 course proposals!
