Biography

Jeff was a first-generation college student and is a sociologist by training (MS, UW–Madison; BA, Ohio Wesleyan University). Before coming to the Registrar’s Office, he spent two decades working on an interdisciplinary study of child development at UW–Madison. His research publications include co-authored articles in Nature NeurosciencePLoS OneArchives of General PsychiatryJournal of Abnormal Child Psychology, and many more. Jeff is proud to wave his nerd flag high as a published New York Times crossword constructor, a sci-fi fan (you must read The Broken Earth trilogy by N. K. Jemisin!), and someone who once shared a Broadway stage with Hugh Jackman. He and his husband share their home with calico Vivian and tuxedo-cat Milo, both adopted through a local feline rescue agency.
