Choose the classes that you wish to take. Course Search & Enroll confirms that you are eligible for these classes and allows you to officially enroll in your selected schedule.
Anyone with a UW–Madison NetID can explore classes using the Course Search & Enroll app.
- Students: Log in at my.wisc.edu. Select the Academic Navigator widget, then select the Course Search & Enroll widget.
Faculty and staff: start at enroll.wisc.edu.
- Search for classes.
Keyword. — Type a word, instructor’s last name, or a number (such as a course number).
Subject area. — View classes in a specific subject, like “Geography” or “Scandinavian Studies.”
Filter. — Fine-tune results using filters like subject, General Education Requirements, or number of credits.
- Save Course.
When you’ve found a class that matches your interests and academic plan, save the course. This checks whether you are eligible to take this class, and groups classes in a convenient place until you’re ready to enroll. The course will now be in your cart.
- Choose sections.
Open the sections panel of each class to select your sections.
Open Scheduler to generate different weekly calendars of classes from your cart.
- Wait list.
If a section is full and a wait list is available, continue to enroll in the class to secure your spot on the wait list.
Enrolling officially adds you to this class (or to this class’s wait list, if you’ve selected this option). It also checks for additional eligibility issues that need correcting before you can enroll.
Remove yourself from an enrolled class.
Swap will hold your seat in the enrolled class until you are successfully enrolled in the new class. Click the three-dot menu icon to access Swap. Replace one of your enrolled classes with one from your Cart.
