From the archives: Listen to UW-Madison's "Touchtone Lady"
Ten years ago, the Office of the Registrar took a leap forward by implementing a web-based enrollment system. Today, students can enroll for classes easily from any computer with Internet access.
But before the Internet was mainstream, classes were scheduled by an automated system over the phone. Students would enter course numbers through the telephone dial pad at the direction of UW-Madison's "Touchtone Lady."
