Status Update: Course Guide Project
Winter 2008

The UW-Madison Course Guide project moved forward into the design phase during Fall, 2007.  Version 1.0 design recommendations were shared and accepted by the Project Sponsors. Test scenarios, detailing how students, faculty, advisors and other staff will use the Course Guide are under ongoing development. In addition, User interface prototypes providing a visual representation of Course Guide content continue to be enhanced. Feedback is being collected from several stakeholder groups, starting with the Policy & Content Subcommittee and their colleagues.

Fall informational sessions were held with UAPC, II-APC, Center for East Asian Studies and the L&S Advisor Consortium. In December, the Teaching Academy Executive Committee formally endorsed the Course Guide project.

Outreach continues to be a high priority for us. The Course Guide Advisory Group remains an important source of feedback and guidance. The Policy & Content Subcommittee will meet as needed to work on topics of Course Guide format and procedures. Informational visits will be made with additional stakeholders including department chairpersons, faculty, advisor and staff groups.

Phase 1 of the Course Guide is tentatively scheduled to be available during Fall semester, 2008.
